What Got Me Into Qasil (Ziziphus)

How I got into Qasil (Ziziphus)

My first encounter with qasil leaf powder was when I was a little girl seeing my mother and grandmother use it to cleanse their face and hair.

Back in Somalia it was also used to pamper brides; using qasil alongside turmeric and safflower to rejuvenate the face and body so they would have the perfect glow on their wedding day.

However its always been in the background within our home and never really thought much of it.

After my family moved to UK from Somalia there was a sudden felt absence of it to the point when every time someone was visiting back home, the older generation would request some to be brought back.

I have always been simplistic in my approach to skin and never bought into the whole complicated skincare regime as a teenager. Fast forward into my 20s, the stress of university coupled with bad eating habits took quite a toll on my skin and using high street brand products had only made matters worse. After seeing the doctor about my skin, I was only prescribed with creams that contained steroids and bleaches which would not only affect my skin but also my pillowcase.

At that point I was fed up! The only option I had left was my mother’s suggestion to use the Qasil face mask. I had nothing to lose at that moment. My mum was right, my skin changed to amazing for the first time in a long time, I would never look back. I saw results in as little as a month. Since then I have been recommending Qasil as the way forward to everyone that is concerned about skincare.

You are what you eat

We hear this said many times and most of the time we ignore it but take a look at your diet. If you dream of that perfect glow and flawless finish no amount of lotions and potions will offer you that natural look. The skin needs to breathe and be stimulated bringing fresh oxygenated blood to its surface feeding it with a gamete of nutrients for growth and repair. How can we expect our skin to shine if we feed it calories devoured of the powerful healing elements a varied, natural diet can offer.

You don’t have to ditch an occasional take away, pre-pared meals or a chocolate bar but your body and skin will value and enjoy a full range of vitamins, minerals and fibre. Skin also reacts to hormonal changes so your liver needs support to flus out the excess alongside de-toxifying things like alcohol and medicines. Plenty of fresh clean water, high fibre diet, cleansing foods and of course fresh air and gentle exercise!
