Make Your Own Body Butter

It's so easy to make your own body butter that's why few years ago we decided to stop buying and start making our own at home.

We've ran out of body butter, so it's body butter making day at home even Batula (our little girl) is helping.

Here's the recipe for today's body butter it's so creamy I could eat it (but don't worry I didn't)

Ingredients:

• 1/4 raw Shea butter

• 1/4 unrefined Cocoa butter

• 1/4 cold pressed Coconut oil

• 1/4 Sweet almond oil

• Few drops of essential oil (I used Frankincense & Bergamot)

Why I chose to use these ingredients:

Shea butter - moisturises & reduces inflammation

Cocoa butter - rich in anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamins

Coconut oil - naturally antibacterial, antifungal, and moisturising

Almond oil - full of vitamin E and vitamin A.

As you can see these ingredients offer a range of amazing properties that will soothe, heal and nourish your skin.

Method:

After boiling water in a pot/saucepan I put the Shea butter and Cocoa butter in a heat proof bowl and place it on top of the hot water so it will gently softened both the Shea butter and Cocoa butter. Once they have all melted together I add the rest of the oils (not the essential oils) and then put it in the fridge for two hours or till it hardens. Take it out of the fridge and add the essential oils whipping them together till you get a creamy consistency and voilà you've got yourself a body butter.
